Recently the folks at Sage Software created a new community site aimed at the millions of ACT! users out there. You can find it at:
It has a number of the components you'd expect to see in a product-centric community, including things like tagging, forums and the ability to communicate with other community members. But the most interesting thing is that David van Toor, Sage's GM of CRM Solutions in North America, has a blog which he plans to use in order to communicate directly with the community. As he says, "yes, it really is me, not my marketing team."
I had an opportunity to speak with David a few months ago and he seems really interested in utilizing social tools to understand what makes customers tick. So I'll be really interested to see how things go with his efforts to use his blog to talk with the community members. It's still early on, but I am seeing some pretty interesting interactions so far. The members definitely seem to appreciate his initial efforts. I'm sure the community hopes he keeps it going. It will benefit them, and most likely it will benefit Sage.
